A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, bail in a money laundering case.
Justice Yusuf Halilu set bail at ₦2 billion, with two sureties owning properties in Asokoro, Maitama, or Wuse. Emefiele must also submit his passport and meet the terms by Wednesday or face remand.
The judge noted Emefiele had been granted bail in other pending cases and had not jumped bail. The prosecution did not oppose bail but asked for stricter terms.
Emefiele is facing an eight-count charge involving alleged money laundering and illegal property acquisition.
