The funeral prayer for former President Muhammadu Buhari will now take place at 2pm on Tuesday, July 15, in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
The ceremony was initially scheduled for Monday.
Governor Dikko Radda announced the change during a press briefing in Katsina. He said the decision followed consultations with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the former president passed away.
According to Radda, Buhari’s remains are expected to arrive in Katsina by 12 noon on Tuesday.
He extended condolences to Buhari’s family, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Nigerians, describing the late leader as a “national icon.”
“We pray Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus,” the governor said.
He added that the Katsina State Government is working closely with federal officials and the family to ensure a dignified and well-coordinated burial.
