Bandits Demand N540m Ransom After Katsina Hospital Attack

Bandits who attacked a general hospital in Kankara, Katsina State, have demanded N540 million to release a nurse and other abducted victims.

The Tuesday attack left Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire and another individual injured by gunfire. The assailants kidnapped several hospital staff, including Yusuf Muhammad Mairuwa, head of the nursing section, for whom they demand N270 million. An additional N270 million ransom was placed on other abducted staff and workers of a nearby fertilizer factory.

Governor Dikko Radda condemned the attack, pledging enhanced security for healthcare workers. Efforts are ongoing to ensure the captives are rescued unharmed.
