Seven people, including a housewife, were kidnapped by bandits in a late-night attack on Kontagora town, Niger State.
The attack, which happened on Sunday night, targeted homes in Talba Estate, Rafin Karma, Dadin Kowa, Gangaren-Sagi, and the Kontagora bypass. A source said a woman was among those taken, while her husband managed to escape.
Residents decried the rising attacks and called on security agencies to intervene. When contacted, Niger Police spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun said the matter was being investigated.
