Atiku: VDM’s Arrest Shows Tinubu’s Drift to Authoritarianism

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the arrest of social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, calling it another sign of rising authoritarianism under President Bola Tinubu.

VDM was arrested last week by the EFCC and remains in detention. In a post on X, Atiku said the continued detention without charges is a violation of his rights.

He accused the Tinubu administration of targeting critics while ignoring corruption among political loyalists.

Atiku said such actions are undermining democracy and must be resisted.
