Operatives of the South-West regional security outfit, Amotekun, have arrested and paraded 45 suspected persons for allegedly committing offences, ranging from dangerous driving, burglary, illegal grazing activities, threat to public peace and buying of stolen goods.
The commander of the corps in Ondo state, Adetunji Adeleye, while parading the suspects at the headquarters of the corps in Akure, the state capital, stated that the Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has directed that 28 of the suspects be released to their families for being first-time offenders, in the spirit of the holiday season.
He said the corps was parading 45 suspect criminals that were picked up in the 18 local government areas of the state for various offenses.
According to Adeyeye, fourteen (14) of the offenders are suspected kidnappers, one (1) was arrested for reckless driving, five (5) burglary cases, two (2) are illegal grazing suspects, as well as four (4) arrested for destruction of public peace stealing and buying of stolen goods.
