The Centre for Human Resource and Development (CHRD) has criticised the poor rollout of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) infrastructure in Northern Nigeria, calling it “alarming.”
In a statement Monday, the group said the Tinubu administration’s CNG initiative has favoured the South, with few functional centres in states like Kano, Kaduna, and Borno. CHRD also accused firms handling the project in the North of incompetence and urged the government to revoke their contracts.
They called on President Tinubu, Senate President Akpabio, and Speaker Abbas to act swiftly, warning that failure to fix the imbalance could deepen regional economic woes.
