Parents in Jijimgba, Kuje Area Council of the FCT, are withdrawing their children from the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School due to poor learning conditions, including a lack of teachers and dilapidated classrooms.

The school, built by the community 18 years ago, is in disrepair, forcing pupils to sit on the floor while teachers use windows as seats due to a shortage of desks and chairs. The PTA chairman, Danjuma Enoch Bako, highlighted the severe impact on learning, especially during the rainy season, when classrooms flood.

A teacher, Silas Alkali, lamented the shortage of staff, saying some teachers rarely show up. He urged the Local Education Authority to send more teachers, as many request transfers due to insecurity.

An LEA official confirmed the issue has been reported to the council chairman for action.
