A magistrate court in Kano has sentenced two TikTok users, Isa Kabiru and Fatima Adam, to nine months in prison for sharing indecent photos on the popular video app.
The duo was arraigned by the Kano State Censorship Board before Magistrate Court No. 7 on charges of conspiracy, sharing inappropriate content, and posting images deemed offensive to public morals. They both pleaded guilty.
Presiding Magistrate Halima Wali handed them three months each for conspiracy, with an option of N100,000 fine. They were also given another three months or N100,000 fine for sharing offensive content, and an additional two months or N50,000 fine for posting indecent pictures.
The court further directed them to pay N100,000 to the Censorship Board or serve an extra six months in jail.
