Two NSCDC officers were killed during an ambush on a joint security patrol team in Udei, Guma LGA of Benue State on Tuesday. The team was responding to reports of burning houses when it came under attack around 4:38 p.m.
Three officers, including a police inspector and two NSCDC personnel, are still missing. Two others are receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
NSCDC spokesman, Michael Ejelikwu, confirmed the deaths and said the Corps remains committed to defending Nigeria despite the “coordinated attacks by killer herdsmen and collaborators.”
