The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has facilitated the return of 13 Nigerian women trafficked to Ghana, bringing the total number of victims rescued since July 2024 to 163.
NiDCOM spokesperson Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in a statement on Friday, noted that the successful operation was a joint effort involving Ghanaian Anti-Human Trafficking Police, Rescue Live Foundation International, and NIDO Ghana.
The victims, aged 19 to 30, were deceived with false job promises but ended up trapped in exploitative conditions. NiDCOM Chairman/CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa thanked First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru for their support in the repatriation efforts.
