The Yobe State Police Command has arraigned 103 suspects in court following a series of raids targeting criminal hideouts and drug hotspots in Damaturu, the state capital.

The arrests were made during a joint operation between the police and the state government aimed at tackling the rising cases of drug abuse and trafficking in the area.

Police spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the operation was launched in response to growing concerns over the impact of drugs on the community, including a spike in crime.

He revealed that among those arrested were three suspected drug barons, who are now under investigation by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Abdulkarim stressed that drug abuse can lead to addiction, health issues, violence, and social problems. He called on the public to stay informed and help raise awareness about the dangers of drug use.
