Troops of the 6 Army Brigade, Jalingo, Taraba State, have intercepted 174 cattle and 57 sheep stolen from Kampanin Zurak in Plateau State.
Army spokesperson, Captain Olubodunde Oni, said the troops acted on intelligence and stopped the rustlers at Namnai village, Gassol LGA, on January 27.
Three suspects—Sabiu Lawal, Haruna Ayuba, and Yusuf Mukawa—were arrested. According to Captain Oni, the suspects admitted they were transporting the stolen livestock to Cameroon through Karamti village in Gashaka LGA, which shares a border with Cameroon.
