Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says hardship under President Bola Tinubu has become so severe that many Nigerians are beginning to miss the Muhammadu Buhari era. Speaking in Abuja, Amaechi said, “Inflation is at its peak. People can’t afford food. Everything is gone.”
Amaechi, who also announced his resignation from the APC, said he never believed Tinubu was fit to lead and criticised the free fall of the naira. “The dollar was about ₦460 under Buhari, now it’s ₦1,580,” he said. He argued that changing government alone is not enough and called for a new people-driven movement.
Also leaving the APC is former Attorney General Abubakar Malami. Both men have now joined the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), as the party positions itself ahead of the 2027 elections.
