Liverpool and Portugal forward, Diogo Jota, has died in a car crash in Spain. He was 28.
The crash reportedly happened on the A-52 motorway near Palacios de Sanabria in Zamora province. Jota was said to be travelling with his younger brother, André, 26, when their vehicle crashed and caught fire.
Spanish emergency services confirmed that they received calls about a vehicle on fire following an accident at kilometre 65 of the highway.
The news has shocked fans and the football community around the world. Jota was widely admired for his sharp goal-scoring ability and versatility on the field.
His death comes just two weeks after he married his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso, in a private ceremony in Porto.
