Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, says President Bola Tinubu, not the National Assembly, blocked his ministerial appointment.
Speaking on Arise TV, El-Rufai said the Senate had no role in his rejection, contrary to reports that it was due to security concerns.
“The President changed his mind about my nomination. The National Assembly had nothing to do with it. I’ve moved on,” he said.
El-Rufai added that Tinubu had personally urged him to join the cabinet, but after months of discussions, things took a different turn.
