The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit in Lagos, accusing President Bola Tinubu of failing to act against contractors who misappropriated over N167 billion from 31 government agencies without delivering any projects.
The suit, which also names Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi as a respondent, demands that the government publicly disclose the names of the companies involved and provide detailed information on the projects, as noted in the 2021 Auditor General report.
SERAP argues that this alleged corruption undermines public service delivery and violates Nigeria’s constitution and anticorruption laws.
The organization insists that holding these contractors accountable is essential to stopping the abuse of public funds and improving access to vital services for Nigerians.
