The Rivers State House of Assembly has dismissed Governor Similayi Fubara’s claim that he was blocked from re-presenting the 2025 budget, calling it “the height of insincerity.”
Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Dr. Enemi Alabo George, said on Thursday that Fubara never formally informed the Assembly about the budget presentation.
“We wrote to him on March 3, urging him to present the budget, but he ignored us. Now, he claims we blocked him, which is false,” George said.
He also accused the governor of withholding lawmakers’ entitlements for over a year and delaying key appointments, despite their efforts to move the state forward.
