The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has warned that Dangote Refinery’s plan to distribute fuel directly across the country could lead to a monopoly and mass job losses.
PETROAN, in a statement Monday, said Dangote’s entry into the retail market could force smaller filling stations out of business and threaten truck drivers’ jobs with its new fleet of 4,000 CNG tankers.
The group urged the government to step in before the downstream sector is dominated.
