The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has apprehended 376 irregular migrants in Ogun State for alleged fraudulent activities.
The arrests took place during a joint operation by the Ogun State Command and Zone A headquarters, targeting suspected hideouts in Lambe, Ajuwon, and Akute based on credible intelligence.
According to Ogun State Comptroller, Muhammed Akadri, profiling showed that 334 were Cameroonians, 27 Ghanaians, 26 Beninese, and one Togolese. The group comprised 251 males and 125 females, aged 25 to 30 years, all of whom lacked valid travel documents and entered Nigeria through unauthorized routes.
Following directives from the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, arrangements are in progress to repatriate them to their home countries.
