Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic outlook, assuring citizens that 2025 will bring prosperity and smiles as the nation’s economy gains momentum.
Speaking to State House reporters after meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday, Shettima highlighted the strides made by the administration in addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.
“The economy has started picking up, and in the coming weeks and months, Nigerians will start smiling,” he said.
The Vice President emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing sustainable solutions in collaboration with the National Assembly. “We are working assiduously with the National Assembly to come up with robust solutions to our national challenges,” he stated.
Acknowledging the global economic challenges, Shettima noted that Nigeria is not isolated from the effects of worldwide economic turbulence. “There is no nation that is immune to the economic headwinds across the world. The crisis in Ukraine and so many other global trends are affecting us adversely because we are part of the global community,” he explained.
Despite these challenges, Shettima assured Nigerians that the country had reached a turning point. “We have crossed the Rubicon and are on a path to sustained growth,” he concluded, urging citizens to remain hopeful as the government continues its efforts to deliver economic stability and prosperity.
