Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, has confirmed the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of explosives following a recent terror alert linked to the Tijjaniyya Maulud celebration.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, CP Garba said, “We acted on intelligence about a potential attack and mobilized resources to address the threat.” He revealed that some suspects fled Kano, but one was tracked and apprehended alongside his host, with explosives recovered during the operation.
Garba emphasized the police’s collaboration with stakeholders to secure the event and urged the public to remain vigilant. “We are committed to ensuring Kano remains safe for everyone,” he added.
The commissioner assured residents of the command’s dedication to peace and security while calling for continued public cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
