Gaza: Al Jazeera Urges Support for Journalists

0

Al Jazeera Media Network has raised alarm over the worsening conditions faced by its journalists in Gaza, calling for urgent global action to stop what it describes as forced starvation and ongoing attacks against media workers.

The network said its reporters, who have covered the war relentlessly for over 21 months, are now struggling to survive. In a moving post, Al Jazeera Arabic’s Anas al-Sharif wrote: “I am drowning in hunger, trembling in exhaustion… Gaza is dying. And we die with it.”

Since October 2023, five Al Jazeera journalists have been killed by Israeli forces, alongside many of their family members. Despite the risks, those who remain continue to report, often with little food or safety.

Al Jazeera’s Director General, Mostefa Souag, urged the global journalistic community to speak out, warning that if no action is taken, “we risk a future where there may be no one left to tell our stories.”
