Four people lost their lives on Friday near New Road Junction in Idemili South LGA when a task force vehicle from the Anambra Special Anti-Tout Squad collided with a fully loaded tipper.
The Toyota Hummer bus, carrying eight operatives on a routine stop-and-search, reportedly rammed into the tipper as it exited a junction, leading to a violent impact that left several bodies on the road.
Eyewitnesses said bystanders quickly intervened to rescue the injured.
The Federal Road Safety Corps attributed the crash to a route violation and urged motorists to adhere to safety measures and allow emergency teams to operate without hindrance.
