Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has dismissed reports suggesting her involvement in a proposed seven-day national prayer against the country’s ongoing economic difficulties.

The reports claimed that both the First Lady and National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, were collaborating with religious leaders to organize a prayer event titled Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs. However, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady’s spokesperson, issued a statement on Saturday refuting the claims.

“This is to inform the public that Senator Oluremi Tinubu is not involved in organizing any national prayer,” Kukoyi clarified. “The rumours circulating on conventional and social media are false and misleading. We advise Nigerians to disregard such reports.”

Kukoyi emphasized that while the First Lady is a strong advocate for prayer and believes in its importance, she holds that praying for the nation should be a personal and voluntary act for every Nigerian, regardless of their religious background.

The statement urged the public to verify any announcements involving the First Lady through official channels to avoid misinformation.
