The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has reassigned the case of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), following his outburst in court over alleged bias.

In a statement on Saturday, Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the development, saying his client received official letters from both the CJN and the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, informing him of the case transfer.

Kanu, who had previously accused Justice Binta Nyako of bias and demanded her recusal, expressed gratitude to the CJN for the swift action and to the public for their support.

Ejimakor stated that Kanu remains confident in his innocence and is now focused on preparing his defense.
