Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Eno was received into the party on Friday at the state capital Uyo by some APC governors including the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; Bassey Otu of Cross River State; Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.
Others were Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.
This comes days after the governor said it was time for him to move to the APC.
“It is time to move” and align the state to APC at the federal level, Eno had said at a town hall meeting in Ikot Abasi.
According to the governor, the decision followed “three months of wide consultation” with critical stakeholders across the state.
