Nigerian Air Force jets have bombed Boko Haram hideouts in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State, destroying major strongholds in Wa Jahode and Loghpere.
Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the strikes followed credible intelligence about increased terrorist activity and were meant to prevent planned attacks on civilians and troops.
He said surveillance showed gatherings of fighters, black flags, and structures with solar panels and underground bunkers. Several top commanders were reportedly neutralised.
The strikes came shortly after President Bola Tinubu ordered security agencies to intensify operations against terrorist groups nationwide.
