In a shocking incident in Yimi community, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, a woman identified as Mrs. Gladys Mani allegedly attacked her husband, Mr. Mani Isaiah, with a stone and fled, abandoning their two-month-old baby.
Mr. Isaiah, a 64-year-old retired police officer, recounted that his wife often accused him of infidelity. “She has always accused me of having affairs. At my age, I find it absurd,” he said, adding that she had once threatened to abort their baby.
Following the incident, Isaiah reported the matter to the district head, seeking assistance in caring for the child, as he has no family nearby. He expressed that if his wife remains missing, he might have to place the child in an orphanage.
A community resident, Samaila Yakubu, revealed that the district head has reported the case to the police to help locate Mrs. Mani.
Attempts to reach the FCT police command for comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
