Troops of the Joint Task Force South-East, “Operation UDO KA,” have killed 13 armed members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) during clearance operations aimed at ensuring peace and security in the region ahead of the yuletide.
The task force’s spokesperson, Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, announced the success in a statement issued in Enugu on Monday. He also revealed that three kidnappers were apprehended during the operations.
Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada, the Force Commander, urged South-East residents to support ongoing efforts by providing timely and credible information to security forces.
