Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) was on Tuesday blocked from entering the National Assembly, weeks after a court declared her suspension unlawful.
Security operatives locked all gates as she arrived with supporters to attend plenary. Her suspension in March over alleged misconduct was overturned by Justice Binta Nyako, who ruled it unconstitutional and excessive.
Despite the judgement, the Senate insisted she cannot resume, citing unmet conditions — including a N5 million fine and a public apology.
The standoff caused gridlock outside the complex as staff and visitors were turned back.
