The House of Representatives has approved a total budget of ₦1.814 trillion for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for the 2025 fiscal year.
The budget was passed during Wednesday’s plenary following the presentation of a report by the Chairman of the House Committee on FCT, Rep. Mukhtar Betara. This figure reflects an increase of ₦30.2 billion from the original ₦1.783 trillion proposal submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
President Tinubu had forwarded the budget to the House in a letter addressed to Speaker Abbas Tajuddeen, which was read on the floor on May 13. The approved budget outlines funding for infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other critical services in the FCT.
The passage now paves the way for implementation as the administration prepares for the 2025 financial year.
