An APC chieftain, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has alleged a coordinated effort to discredit the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and its Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Sale Usman, ahead of the 2025 Hajj.
In a statement Saturday, Kwankwaso said recent media reports accusing NAHCON of bias in the ad hoc staff selection were part of a broader agenda to undermine reforms introduced by the chairman.
“It’s unacceptable that some people are bent on destabilising the commission. The chairman deserves support, not attacks,” he said.
Kwankwaso described the selection process for the National Hajj Medical Team as transparent and merit-based, adding that those fuelling controversy were simply uncomfortable with the changes.
He urged the media to be professional and called for continued support from all stakeholders to ensure a successful 2025 Hajj.
