Ogun Launches ‘Plastic for Cash’ to Tackle Waste

Ogun State has unveiled a ‘Plastic for Cash’ initiative to reduce pollution and create income for residents.

Environment Commissioner Ola Oresanya said the scheme will reward people with money and household items in exchange for sorted plastic waste. He added that a new ‘Blue Box’ recycling project will also help households separate waste at the source.

The launch was part of World Environment Day celebrations in Abeokuta.
