The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intercepted a truck loaded with suspected vandalised street light poles in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Monica Ojobi, the truck was heading to Kano when it was stopped by NSCDC’s Critical National Assets team during a routine patrol around the Jabi area.
The driver and his assistant reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled, raising further suspicion.
FCT NSCDC Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, condemned the growing trend of vandalism in the capital, saying it undermines government efforts to provide essential infrastructure.
The impounded truck is currently in the custody of the command, while investigations are ongoing.
