The Nigerian Army said its troops deployed on counterterrorism and counter-insurgency operations raided the den of a notorious terrorist kingpin popularly called “Yellow Janbros” at Dangunu Village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where officers neutralized one of the suspected terrorists and recovered firearms.
According to a post on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, posted by the communications team of the Nigerian army to their social handle on X, Janbros was alleged to have been responsible for kidnappings and other acts of terrorism in parts of north-western Nigeria.
Item recovered, according to the statement, included one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, 30 rounds of 7.62 mm special, and one hundred and fifty bags of grains believed to be stolen.
The statement read, “The troops overpowered and dislodged the terrorists and neutralized one of them. The gallant troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, One AK-47 Magazine, 30 rounds of 7.62 mm Special and one hundred and fifty bags of stolen grains. The terrorists’ enclave has been completely destroyed.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to mitigating security challenges and will leave no stone unturned to rid the nation of terrorists and insurgents.”
