A newborn baby has been reported missing from the Okeyinmi Health Centre in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State.
The incident was discovered early Monday morning when nurses on duty came in to attend to the infant and found her missing. The sudden disappearance has caused panic among hospital staff and nearby residents.
The baby’s mother, health workers on duty, and the hospital’s security guard were taken to the police station for questioning. Some traders near the hospital also expressed shock over the incident.
Ekiti State Police spokesperson, SP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the case, stating that four suspects had been arrested and were already providing helpful information. He said the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to handle the case and ensure the baby is found.
