Renowned Nigerian gospel artist, Nathaniel Bassey, has announced that he will perform at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast in honour of U.S. President-elect Donald J. Trump.
The event is scheduled to take place on January 20, 2025, at the 1,300-capacity Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom in Washington, D.C.
Bassey, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, will serve as a musical special guest alongside globally recognized preachers, including Alveda King, Mario Bramnick, Rebecca Macchi, and Dominiquae Bierman.
In a congratulatory message, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, praised Bassey for exemplifying “the Akwa Ibom spirit of excellence, creativity, industry, and universal love.” The governor also thanked him for his contributions to the state and prayed for continued opportunities for the gospel singer to shine on global platforms.
Clarifying reports circulating online, Bassey emphasized that the event is not the official inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump but a prayer gathering held in his honour.
