The National Assembly has suspended all legislative activities for one week following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Clerk to the Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, announced the suspension in a statement on Monday, saying it was in honour of Buhari’s legacy.
“All sittings are suspended until Tuesday, July 22, 2025,” the statement read.
Lawmakers were asked to adjust their schedules to take part in burial arrangements for the late president, who died in London at 82.
The Assembly also offered condolences to Buhari’s family, the people of Katsina State, and Nigerians at large, praying Allah grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.
