Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 30-year-old man, Hussaini Abubakar, for allegedly killing his mother, Dahara Mu’azu, in Gumel Local Government Area.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 29, around 8pm. Police said the suspect attacked the 75-year-old woman, who later died in the hospital.
Spokesman for the command, SP Lawan Shi’isu Adam, said the suspect is in custody and cooperating with investigators. The case has been transferred to the State CID.
Commissioner of Police, AT Abdullahi, described the incident as “inhuman and barbaric” and assured that justice will be served.
