Gunmen have killed two kidnapped victims in Gwargwada, Kuje Area Council, over a delay in ransom payment.
The victims, Mohammed Danladi and Nasiru Yusuf, were abducted alongside a herder and a woman at Gwombe junction along the Gwargwada-Rubochi road last Wednesday.
A family member, Shuaibu Abdullahi, said the kidnappers demanded ₦500,000 each, but the families could only raise ₦500,000 in total. Unknown to them, the captors had already killed the victims for the delay.
The kidnappers later released the herder and the woman after collecting ₦3 million in ransom at their hideout in Kotonkarfe forest, Kogi State.
The traditional ruler of Gwargwada, Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam, confirmed the killings, stating that local hunters and vigilantes have been mobilized to recover the bodies.
The FCT Police Command has yet to respond to the incident.
