A Kano court has sentenced five men to one month in prison or a ₦25,000 fine each for letting their goats destroy newly planted government trees.
The Ministry of Environment said the goats damaged trees along Lodge and Race Course roads. The act violated public health laws against environmental nuisance.
Officials say 17 goats were involved. The ministry warned others to control their animals or face similar penalties.
