Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved Engr. Buba Galadima of his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kano State Polytechnic.
In a statement shared on his social media handles on Saturday, the governor’s spokesperson, Sani Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the decision followed the restructuring and alignment with Kano First Agenda.
Further explaining the reason for the termination of the appointment, the government hinged it on what it described as “the ongoing reforms.”
“Although the tenure of the Governing Council is for a period of three years, the appointment of the Chairman was terminated before expiration due to the ongoing reforms for optimal performance of the Polytechnic.
“Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Engr. Buba Galadima for the services he rendered to the institution during his tenure as Chairman of the Governing Council.” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the governor has consequently approved the appointment of Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the new Chairman of the institution’s governing council.
The Governor urged the newly appointed Chairman to demonstrate commitment in repositioning the institution for greater academic and administrative excellence.
