A fire broke out on Saturday at Imaratus Sanan Hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, which housed 484 Nigerian pilgrims. Fortunately, all were confirmed safe.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) said most of the pilgrims were away in Mina for the stoning ritual when the fire occurred around 12pm.
Quick action by Saudi emergency services and hotel staff helped contain the blaze.
NAHCON Chairman, Prof Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, visited the site and ordered the immediate relocation of the affected pilgrims to a new accommodation.
He assured them of full support and thanked Allah for their safety.
