The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Plateau state chapter, on Tuesday, March 19th 2024, uncovered one George Ossai who they say operates as a medical doctor at religious centers and schools across the state without possessing the requisite trainings and license to practice.
The association said it had been trailing Ossai for a long time without success, until Tuesday when the association appeared at a church where he was operating.
A statement jointly signed by NMA state chairman and publicity secretary Bapigaan William Audu and Istifanus Bintum Bako, said Ossai was arrested in collaboration with the state ministry of health.
The NMA chairman, therefore, called on members of the public to report any suspected fake doctors to them as drastic measures would be taken to investigate the matter.
He commended security agencies for their cooperation and enjoin the public to always seek the services of health professionals within the confines of a health facility rather than engaging anyone selling ‘medicines’ or claiming to be a medical doctor.
