Armed bandits have rustled herds of cattle in Lade, Patigi LGA of Kwara State, in a late-night attack that left residents shaken.
A community member said the assailants struck around 10 pm, targeting several villages. “They moved fast. By morning, only hoofprints were left,” he said.
Mohammed Baba, a vigilante leader, confirmed the cattle belonged to multiple families, calling it a major blow to their livelihood.
Kwara Police Commissioner Adekimi Ojo said a similar incident occurred in Lafiagi, Edu LGA, where most of the stolen cattle have been recovered. He noted efforts are ongoing to recover those taken from Lade.
