The Nigerian Army has arrested 28 suspected drug dealers—17 men and 11 women—around Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna.
The operation followed concerns over drug abuse among children of personnel and nearby civilians. Army spokesperson, Captain Olusegun Abidoye, said hotspots like Railway and Unguwan Loya had become hubs for drug peddling.
He denied social media claims of forced evictions, adding that the operation was strictly against illegal drug activity. Seized drugs included cannabis, meth, crack, and tramadol.
The suspects and exhibits have been handed over to the NDLEA for further action.
