2 Suspected Female Suicide Bombers Arrested in Borno.

0

Following the devastating, coordinated suicide bombing incident that happened in the border town of Gwoza in Borno state, two other female suicide bombers have been arrested. Security officials say they believe, at least, 30 female suicide bombers were sent into Gwoza and neighbouring towns to detonate their bombs and at least, 4 have been successful so far, killing 18 people and injuring dozens of others.

In response, authorities have since deployed a man hunt to apprehend the other suspected bombers who they believe are lurking around Gwoza, Pulka and other towns, with their Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) before they are detonated.

An eyewitness report from Borno on Sunday evening says one of the suspected female bombers reportedly detonated an IED while being questioned by members of the military at a checkpoint. The soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) had suspected the bomber and decided to interrogate her. She then allegedly panicked and detonated the bomb, killing herself, a soldier and a member of the CJTF.
