‘Why Oriental Energy chair donated complex to UNIMAID’

A new multibillion naira complex built and donated by the Chairman of Oriental Energy, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Indimi is set to boost the e-learning capacity of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) especially with limitations posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A statement by the oil firm issued from its Lagos headquarters yesterday said the gesture is an extension of Indimi’s commitment to educational excellence.

The complex, which was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari last Thursday, has an examination hall, conference room, e-Resources Centre, laboratory as well as staff offices and recreational areas.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Muhammadu Indimi Centre for Distance Learning, Alhaji Indimi, said: “I believe that the centre will help the university in the way it delivers learning, training, and skills, as well as to those who will be taking their courses remotely.

“I thank the university for this opportunity and partnership; I will continue to support the programmes and initiatives of this great university. This project, Mr President, is one of my token contributions to education. I hope and pray that this will inspire others to look in the same direction.”
