Reps urge IGP to investigate killings in Plateau communities

The House of Representatives yesterday called on the Inspector-General of Police to improve security around some Plateau South communities to halt incessant killings.

He was also urged to investigate the killings that took place in the communities recently.

This followed the adoption of a motion on matters of urgent public importance by Dachung Musa, who had said there had been an increase in the rate of insecurity and killing of innocent souls by persons tagged as suspected gunmen.

“Of recent, a community within my constituency was attacked by on the 13th of June, 2021.

“The attack which took place on a Sunday night, 13 June, 2021 claimed the lives of 12 of my constituents who were gruesomely killed in and around Danchol (Sabon Layi) and Kushe, Kuru of Jos South LGA, Plateau State,” he said.

The House called on the IGP to carry out investigations on the alleged mayhem perpetrated in the communities and bring the perpetrators to book.
